Dear Seth McFarlane
You are an unfunny, untalented, unoriginal writer who makes rape, misogyny, racism, xenophobia and every tired stereotype known to man or woman a part of your execrable show.
Stop. Stop what you are doing and realize that you have seriously lowered the bar for animated television shows that had been set so high by The Simpsons, Animaniacs, Batman, and Futurama. You, sir, are a hack. You’re success and popularity baffle me.

I must disagree with what you have written. I find Seth MacFarlane to be very funny and very talented and far from a hack. “Funny” is subjective; do not villify him simply because his brand of humor does not apeal to you. He is very successful, so clearly alot of people do think he is funny. I have also had the pleasure of meeting him on two occasions, and both times he was extremely warm and gracious. His success and popularity do not baffle me at all; I completely understand it.
Hi Emma. First of all, thank you for commenting. I’m still getting used to people reading what I write.
I agree that comedy is subjective, and no one person gets to decide what is funny or not funny for anyone else. I stand by my post in part because I didn’t and wouldn’t say that people shouldn’t watch it or enjoy it.
I’ve tried giving Family Guy a chance on a few occasions, because a lot of my friends love the show. It gets quoted like crazy and is quickly becoming one of the most most well-known animated shows second only to The Simpsons.
I can’t enjoy a show that makes rape jokes. I can’t enjoy a show that makes pedophilia jokes. It’s almost impossible to make either of those subjects funny to me. But I want to make clear that the above is my opinion. That and a buck…well, it won’t get you a cup of coffee anymore, which is too bad.
